Hispanic Heritage celebration headlines a busy month for OESPA

HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH: Over sixty members and guests took time to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at our union hall. With flags from Hispanic nations strung overhead, OESPA members and guests enjoyed delicious latin cuisine from across the globe. Read more

FEA DELEGATE ASSEMBLY: OESPA was loud and proud at the 2019 FEA Delegate Assembly. Several important initiatives were discussed, including our state union’s bus tour. Read more

COME OUT WITH PRIDE PARADE: OESPA marched (and danced) through Downtown Orlando this month in a show of solidarity with our LGBTQ brothers and sisters. The event which organizers estimate drew over 100,000 attendees was a colorful event with an important purpose. Read more

UNION MANAGEMENT MEETINGS: The week of October 14 – 18 was a historic one for OESPA as a record number of Union-Management Meetings were held. From Clerical to Maintenance and several other job families in between, OESPA members and staff brought concerns and ideas directly to OCPS management. Call the office for more information.

CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES BONUS SET TO HIT BANK ACCOUNTS: Bonus time!! Per the OCPS payroll department, all eligible employees are scheduled to receive their $500.00 bonus on the first paycheck in November. Check your pay cycle to see which date that is for you!

ATTENTION PARAPROFESSIONAL Personnel! OESPA is going to host a town hall meeting for Paraprofessional personnel to discuss issues facing our job family on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 9am to 10:30am at our union hall located at 5122 Edgewater Drive Orlando, Florida 32810 (in the Carpets & Blinds building).

NATIONAL ESP DAY: For a second straight year OESPA will be offering a sugary surprise for classified employees across the district on National Educational Support Professional Day – November 20, 2019. Look back at our celebration last year
